God, this is so good! This came at the perfect time and I'm so grateful for it. I think sometimes we feel like we need to shrink parts of ourselves so as to not disrupt our relationships. As you pointed out (much more elegantly), it just doesn't work. I'd rather be alone than neglect my need for exploration and adventure in this life. Thank you for this piece.
